SIMPLE ASIAN SLAW

Crunchy, colorful and filled with the flavors of the Orient, this Simple Asian Slaw is a fabulous addition to any meal.  But, when paired with my delicious Steamed Chinese BBQ Pork Bao Buns or Pan-Fried Chinese BBQ Pork Dumplings, it’s a Weekday Gourmand’s Meal Planner repast!

This salad is on the menu for the third day of my World Tour Week’s menu.  It’s served with your choice of  Steamed Chinese BBQ Pork Bao Buns or Pan-Fried Chinese BBQ Pork Dumplings.

Simple Asian Slaw

Yield: 8 Servings

Total Time: 20 minutes

Crunchy, colorful and filled with the flavors of the Orient, this Simple Asian Slaw is absolutely fabulous with any meal. Paired with my delicious Char Siu Chinese BBQ Pork, it makes a fabulous weeknight repast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups purple cabbage, sliced thinly
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cups broccoli slaw mix
  • 1 cup Sugar snap or Snow pea pods, sliced on the bias
  • 4 Green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 large red sweet bell pepper, sliced thinly
  • Ginger-Sesame or Asian style vinaigrette
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Sesame Seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add all the vegetables and stir well to combine.
  2. Make your own ginger-sesame vinaigrette or using bottled dressing. Toss vegetables with the dressing and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

SIMPLE ASIAN SLAW IS BEST AFTER REFRIGERATING FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE SERVING.
