ROASTED ASIAN BROCCOLI

Roasting broccoli intensifies it’s flavor, and this Asian inspired sauce will transport you to exotic places after just one bite!  Fast to put together, and hands-off cooking makes Roasted Asian Broccoli an easy weeknight side dish.

Roasted Asian Broccoli

Yield: 4 Servings
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Roasting broccoli intensifies it's flavor, and this Asian inspired sauce will transport you to exotic places after one bite! Fast to put together, and hands-off cooking make this an easy weeknight side dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups small broccoli florets
  • 1 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil + 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp. tamari sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp. chili oil to taste
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. hoisin sauce
  • Black sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. In a medium bowl, toss the broccoli florets with oil combination and salt and pepper to coat.
  2. Place the broccoli on a rimmed baking sheet, well spaced for even cooking
  3. Roast in oven for 20-25 minutes, or until crisp-tender.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients, except sesame seeds.
  5. Place the roasted broccoli back into the medium bowl and toss with the dressing.
  6. Plate broccoli, garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
