Hot Crab Rangoon Dip

Yield: 4 cups
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 18 minutes

Creamy, rich and chocked full of chunks of crab... makes for a fabulous dip when served with some crusty French bread.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. cream cheese, softened, cubed
  • 1/4 cup half-and-half
  • Can of condensed cream of shrimp soup
  • 1 large shallot, finely diced
  • 2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp. hot sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 12 ounces crab meat, drained, picked for shells
  • 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the cream cheese, half-and-half, soup, shallot, spices and worchestershire sauce over medium heat.
  2. Stir the mixture to combine as it heats until it begins to simmer.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the cheddar cheese in two batches, stirring until melted each time.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and fold in the crab. Stir until heated through. Remove from heat, add lemon juice, stir to combine.
  5. Serve with crusty French bread, hot pretzels or chips.
