GLOSSY MOCHA GLAZE

Doubly delicious with the flavors of chocolate and coffee combine into a luscious, Glossy Mocha Glaze for cakes, ice cream and so much more!

Here’s how I make my Glossy Mocha Glaze:

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 10 oz. bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 2/3 cup confectioner’s sugar
  • ¼ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp. instant espresso powder

 

DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl, add chocolate, sugar and salt, stirring to combine. 

Place a small saucepan over medium heat and add cream and espresso powder, stirring well to incorporate espresso powder.

When cream is hot, pour it over the chocolate and sugar mixture and let it sit for about 2 minutes without stirring.

With a wire whisk, stir together the glaze until it becomes thick and creamy.

AND HERE’S WHAT  I USED MY GLOSSY MOCHA GLAZE ON!

For this Father’s Day I wanted to create a fabulous showpiece dessert featuring my hubby’s favorite fruit, bananas.

But since bananas are available all year long, this dessert can adorn your holiday or party table any season of the year.  It’s a festive recipe that’s certainly fit for any and all special occasions.

Frozen Coffee Banana Torte is a riff on the classic Tiramisu, except that it’s frozen and doesn’t use lady fingers.  I used my fabulous version of Sweet and Dark Coffee Syrup  generously brushed on slices of purchased pound cake to be layered with coffee ice cream, banana slices, and a White Chocolate Dalmatian Mousse.

Then I couldn’t resist  “gilding the lily” by adding this recipe for Glossy Mocha Glaze!
